Accounting supervision
Accounting Supervision Services in the UAE
Accounting supervision is designed for companies that already employ an in-house accountant but need independent oversight. Soft Power Audit & Tax Agency reviews the work monthly, corrects treatment before it hardens into a year-end problem, and gives management reporting they can rely on.
It is the most cost-effective way to keep a small finance function accurate without hiring a finance manager.
What is VAT in the UAE?
Value Added Tax (VAT) is an indirect tax charged at 5% on most goods and services supplied in the UAE. Registered businesses charge VAT on their taxable supplies, recover input VAT on eligible purchases, and file periodic VAT returns with the Federal Tax Authority reporting the net amount payable or refundable.
What supervision covers each month
We agree a monthly review checklist matched to your business, then report findings to management with the corrections applied.
- Review of the general ledger, journals and account classification
- VAT treatment review before returns are submitted
- Review of management accounts and variance commentary
- Year-end readiness review ahead of the statutory audit
- Verification of bank, cash, receivable and payable reconciliations
- Payroll, accrual and provision checks
- Coaching and process guidance for your in-house accountant
Who benefits most
Companies with a single accountant handling everything, businesses whose owner cannot personally review technical treatment, groups where a head office needs assurance on a UAE entity, and companies that have had audit adjustments or FTA penalties in prior years.
How it works
We start with a baseline review of your current records to identify open risks. From there we set a monthly cycle with a fixed review date, a written findings note and a short call with management. Every quarter, a partner reviews the file and signs off the position. Fees are fixed monthly and agreed in writing before we begin.
